Eilat Day 1
Tel Beer Sheva, Camel Riding & Mitzpeh Ramon
February 20th
Shiurim
Sugyot B'Emunah
Alumnae
Rav Boruch Smith
Learn about Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, and how he was able to finish bridging the gap between perfection and imperfection that is in existence as a byproduct of creation. The two steps of bridging the gap are using our speech to sweeten the gevura, and by using our speech to “translate” ideas into understandable realities. Yaakov Avinu did the sweetening, and Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai did the translating, which allows every person to be able to understand Torah even today.

Intro to Jewish Thought- Freedom and Free Choice Part I
Alumnae
Rav Avraham Lubarsky
The class begins by discussing how to properly approach the Moadim (before, during, after, long after), and how this approach applies to other life experiences. The class then presents Torah's definition of freedom, as well as Rav Soloveitchik's approach to free man vs. slave personalities.
